Why was Bucharest called Little Paris?

Some tourists who join our walking tours throughout Bucharest are surprised to find out that we have a tour called How Bucharest became "the Little Paris". Most were not even aware of the nickname.

But as we wander through the city and through Romania's history, the connection becomes more and more clear. If you do not have time for our 3 hour tour, let us walk you through the city in a few pictures.

From our very own Arc de Triumf to french inspired architecture, to landscape designs that have come directly from Paris, Bucharest has a lot of surprises to offer. Join our tour to find out why so much of the city has a French vibe, and how many other influences have helped shape the city of today.
