We are hiring an Inn keeper

We are...

...a small boutique hotel located in a beautifully-restored historic house near Bucharest’s city center. We offer double rooms and apartments for short- and mid-term stays. The owners are a young couple who share a passion for travel and design.

What you will do:

  • Check rooms after cleaning, to make sure they are in perfect order and spotless.

  • Provide constructive and respectful feedback on a daily basis to house-cleaning staff.

  • Check-in and check-out guests (welcome them, answer their questions, collect cash and handle keys)

  • Be the personal concierge of our guests. Help them with directions, and help them plan their stays in Bucharest: Book concert tickets, make reservations at restaurants or recommend museums or other activities in Bucharest.

  • You drive sales of add-on services and products (guided tours, transportation, drinks, souvenirs, etc.).

  • You may help with event organization, including provisioning supplies, guest registration, meal preparation and serving.

  • Ensure guests observe house rules, and do not disturb other guests (no loud parties during the night, unless planned so, no smoking inside, etc.)

  • Immediately report (and occasionally help fix) any house maintenance issues.

  • Handle customer complaints and ensure they are addressed in a timely manner, while keeping guest satisfaction top of mind.

  • Ensure hotel costs are kept down without sacrificing customer satisfaction or well-being.

  • Keep up to date tracking and stats

  • Handle reservation queue to prevent overbooking and maximize sales

You are the perfect candidate if:
  • You love helping travelers, no matter how demanding they are.

  • You are patient and a good listener.

  • You are a hygiene freak, and pay attention to every detail.

  • You are sociable and well-traveled.

  • You love Bucharest, and know the city inside-out. You always know what is going on in the city, what are the best events or places to visit or eat at.

  • You speak at least two foreign languages fluently (English is a must, Italian, German, Hebrew or Spanish are recommended)

  • You don’t have a problem waking up very early or in the middle of the night to fix a guest’s problem.

  • You are extremely well-organized and always on time.

  • You are an expert at getting from A to B in Bucharest using any means of transportation necessary (including your own car and/or bicycle).

  • You are very well-connected, and can use your smart-phone for things other than selfies or Facebook. (checking reservations, responding to guest calls or emails, calendaring, to-do lists, etc.)

  • You have no problem working during week-ends. (Don’t worry, we will give you plenty of time off, and we will also pay extra for extra work.)

  • You are not afraid to occasionally hold a broom, mop a floor or even clean a toilet. (Don’t worry, we have dedicated staff for that, but when push comes to shove, we all help each other).

  • You treat all other colleagues with respect, no matter what their job or rank is.

  • Advantage: your idea of a fun evening is installing Ikea furniture.

We offer:
  • A substantial salary or a 2-room apartment (40 sqm) on the hotel premises, in a historic house in central Bucharest, with all utility expenses included (heating, electricity, water). Your apartment will have 1 bedroom, 1 kitchenette/living room and one bathroom. (worth: 550 euro/month).

  • Access to hotel’s shared spaces with prior reservation: dining area, laundry room.

  • Percent of all revenues. (based on your availability and performance)

  • Spot bonuses for positive customer testimonials and reviews.

  • Penalties incurred for negative customer reviews generating from factors that are within the hotel’s control.

  • Vacation voucher once per year (we want you to travel, so we will pay - partly or entirely - for accommodation and/or hotel)
